Focused Recruitment are now seeking a Project / Design Engineer to work for an exciting and busy factory in the Ebbw Vale area.  The chosen candidate must have a proven track record of successfully being responsible for product design and development. A good general knowledge of the automotive industry is a distinct advantage, although not essential.

The successful candidate will also provide the technical manager with support when needed and take on the following responsibilities:

• Compilation and preparation of Technical designs associated with the company’s products, namely seating and suspension systems for sale into the off road vehicular market.
• Supervise Engineering Change Notices in line with the company’s published QMS procedures.  The coordination of ECN’s will be the responsibility of the Engineering Administrator and therefore the Design/ Project Engineer will liaise and direct the Engineering Administrator if he/she feels appropriate to ensure a timely and effective process.
• PAP co-ordination, in line with the customer’s requirements and/or companies APQP process. (NPI, PFMEA, DFMEA).
• Coordination of specific NPI activities as assigned by the Technical Manager of which will include the chairing of meetings, recording of meeting notes and compilation of time lines in support of new business acquisitions.
• Professional liaison with customers and suppliers in support of Technical issues related to the company’s current products and the evolvement of new product designs and developments.
• The Project/Design Engineer will also provide a timely response to interdepartmental and inter-company requests as assigned.

Flexibility is required in terms of working hours as business demands can often change at the last minute.  The role is generally business hours, however some additional or weekend work may be required.
